Dayana has just made a full recovery from cancer! She had a cancerous growth in her left leg, which required amputation. Although she has beaten cancer, without a leg, she moves slowly on crutches and is embarrassed at school.
Our medical partner, Wuqu Kawoq’, writes, “Dayana's family is so happy that she's beaten her cancer. However, they would now like to see her walk independently again. Unfortunately, prosthetics are very expensive and difficult to obtain in Guatemala, and they don't have the connections or the funds to make it happen.”
For $1,255, Dayana will receive a molded leg prosthetic, which will improve her mobility, her independence, and her higher self-esteem. Let’s give Dayana this prosthetic so she can focus on her education rather than the other kids teasing her!
