Meet 70-year-old Daw Than from Thailand. She's been independent her entire life, having raised her daughter by herself and now contributing largely to the care of her granddaughter (she lives with both at this time).
"She begins work as a cleaner at a NGO shortly so she hopes to be well enough to start," Burma Border Projects (BBP) tells us about Daw Than. She is currently having heavy bleeding and severe back pain due to uterine fibroids, which leave her weak, in pain, and unable to walk without hunching over. "It is very important she is well again shortly because she is the sole income earner of the family," BBP continues.
With our help, BBP will be able to provide Daw Than the care she needs. $1500 will cover costs, including hospitalization, transportation, and medication.
"Treatment will allow her to start her new job and support her daughter and grandmother," writes the BBP team."It will allow her to live pain free and with dignity."
