Kelly is a 23-year-old Business Administration student from Kenya. Her family members assist in offering her with living support, especially since her father passed away in 2022, and her mother suffers from a condition that requires constant care. In January 2024, Kelly's left knee was struck by a door, leading to swelling and pain in the area. Subsequently, the swelling burst, resulting in pus formation. She sought medical attention at a nearby hospital, but unfortunately, her condition did not improve. Kelly was taken our medical partner's care center, AIC Kijabe Hospital, where she was diagnosed with a small, proximal tibia sequester. Surgery was recommended, without which there was a risk she could lose her leg. Fortunately, our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare, is helping Kelly receive treatment. On April 8th, surgeons at AIC Kijabe Hospital will perform a sequestrectomy debridement external fixation to prevent the infection from spreading, and save her leg. Now, Kelly's family needs help to fund this $1,500 procedure. Kelly says: “I stopped going to college because of the infection. I cannot walk or use my leg because of the infection. I am requesting for treatment support to help preserve my leg.”

Ly Huor, who is 14 years old, lives in Takeo province with his parents and two siblings. Ly Huor's parents work as rice farmers. Ly Huor was born with hemiplegia, a type of cerebral palsy that results from damage to the part of the brain that controls muscle movements. As a consequence, patients suffer from paralysis of one half of the body. Recently, Ly Huor has struggled to use his right arm and hand. Ly Huor and his family consulted with physicians at our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre. On November 2nd, he will undergo a nerve and tendon procedure at Kien Khleang National Rehabilitation Centre to improve the position and function of his right hand. Now the family needs your help to fund the $572 procedure and post-op care. Ly Huor's mother shared: "I hope my son can move his arm and hand better and we don't have to worry so much anymore."

Chann is a 35-year-old seamstress, living with her sister. While Chann is single, she has two sisters and a brother. During the day, Chann works at a local clothing factory, but in her free time, she enjoys watching Khmer comedies, and listening to music. In June, Chann fell from a tree, and fractured her left forearm. Because she was unable to afford the cost of the care at a local clinic, she visited a local Khmer traditional healer, where she was given pain medication and sent home. Sadly, Chann's fracture did not heal properly, and now her arm is deformed. She lives in pain most of the time, and she cannot work. Fortunately, surgeons at our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre, can help. On July 8th, Chann will undergo a fracture repair procedure at Kien Khleang National Rehabilitation Centre, during which time her arm will be set properly, allowing the fracture to heal. Chann needs $483 to cover the cost of the surgery, which will enable her to return to work and to support herself, and to live without pain. Chann says: "I hope my arm will be fixed so I will not have any more pain and I can use my arm again."
