Meet Mustafe, a four-year-old boy from Somaliland. Mustafe was born with club feet, which makes it difficult for him to walk. Because of his feet, Mustafe falls over and hurts himself often. He struggles to keep up with his peers, and is unable to play games with other children. For $1,184, we can fund bilateral club foot repair surgery and follow-up care for Mustafe. After the surgery, our medical partners at Edna Adan Hospital anticipate Mustafe’s mobility will greatly improve. “I have lost my job and everything I had worked hard for. But I am grateful for my life and I know that as long as there is life, there is hope. I want to get better so that I can take care of my family,” says Paul courageously. Meet Paul, a 37-year-old hard working husband and father of three from Kenya. Paul was a farmer and was the sole financial supporter of his family until last year when he was in a motorbike accident. His right tibia was fractured and Paul continues to be in pain and is unable to walk without crutches. Paul was forced to sell his farm and close his business and now is no longer able to support his family or raise funds for his needed treatment. “If surgery is not done, Paul will never be able to walk on his own again. He leg is at risk for infection, which could lead to amputation,” explain our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation. With $660, Paul can receive the surgery that will allow him to walk again. With your help, Paul will return to a fulfilling and productive life!
