Chantrea is a young man from Cambodia. Chantrea enjoys listening to music, watching television, cooking for his family, and going for walks with his friends. In February 2019, he was involved in a motor vehicle accident, suffering trauma to his right leg. He sought care at a private hospital in Phnom Penh where he was placed in a bamboo splint for two months. He was then able to regain movement in his leg, allowing him to walk normally. However, the bone did not heal properly and has since become deformed and shortened. Treatment will help realign the bones in Chantrea's leg, making sure they heal properly. Treatment will also elongate the tissue and return his leg to its appropriate length. Surgery is scheduled for July 3 and will cost $390.

Sok Hin is a 29-year-old soldier from Cambodia. He has one daughter and one son, and enjoys playing with his kids in his free time. When he was ten years old, Sok Hin had an ear infection. This infection caused the tympanic membrane, or the ear drum, in his left ear to perforate. For this reason, Sok Hin experiences tinnitus, discharge, and itchiness. He finds it difficult to communicate well with others and cannot focus at work. Sok Hin traveled to our medical partner's care center to receive treatment. On July 4, he will undergo a myringoplasty procedure in his left ear. During this procedure, surgeons will close the perforation. Our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre, is requesting $423 to fund this procedure. This covers medications, supplies, and inpatient care. He says, "I hope that after my operation, my hearing will improve and I will no longer have an infection."

Uk is a 76-year-old rice farmer from Cambodia. She has six children, ten grandchildren, and enjoys listening to the monks pray on the radio in her free time. One year ago, Uk developed a cataract in her left eye, causing her blurry vision. She has difficulty seeing things clearly, recognizing faces, and going anywhere outside. When Uk learned about our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre, she traveled for four hours seeking treatment. On July 11, doctors will perform a phacoemulsification cataract surgery and an intraocular lens implant in her left eye. After recovery, she will be able to see clearly. Now, she needs help to fund this $211 procedure. She says, "I hope that after my operation I will be able to go to the pagoda, recognize people, and can go anywhere I want to on my own."

John is a young man from Kenya. In June, he was hit by a motorbike and sustained injuries on his right leg. He is in chronic pain and cannot walk on his own. Fortunately, surgeons at our medical partner can help. On July 2, John will undergo a fracture repair procedure, called an open reduction and internal fixation. This procedure will help him walk again. Now, our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation, is requesting $998 to fund this procedure.

Nareth is a teenager from Cambodia. He has two brothers and two sisters. He likes studying Khmer language and physiology. He wants to be a cook when he grows up. Two years ago, Nareth cut his hand on a piece of glass on accident. His hand is still numb, and he has no feeling in any of his fingers. He needs to undergo a nerve exploration and nerve graft procedure to regain function of his hand. Fortunately, surgery is scheduled for August 7 at our medical partner's care center. Now, his family needs help raising $497 to fund the procedure.
