Chorn is a 55-year-old farmer with five sons and two daughters. In his free time, he likes to work in his rice fields and listen to the radio.
In May 2014, Chorn was in a car accident. The car rolled over and fractured his right humerus. He visited a Khmer traditional healer for treatment, but his symptoms did not improve.
Chorn then visited a hospital, when he underwent surgery and a plate was inserted to heal the fracture. After the operation, he started experiencing radial nerve palsy, or "wrist drop." Essentially, he cannot extend his wrist.
When Chorn learned about our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre (CSC), he traveled for three hours to seek treatment. X-rays revealed that his fracture had not healed. On November 2, CSC surgeons performed surgery on his right humerus and a tendon transfer in his wrist.
After recovery, Chorn will be able to use his right arm easily. Now, he needs help to fund this $450 surgery.
