Curtis joined Watsi on October 1st, 2019. 8 other people also joined Watsi on that day! Curtis' most recent donation supported Heang, a young man from Cambodia, to fund eye surgery.
Curtis has funded healthcare for 2 patients in 2 countries.
Heang is a 21-year-old air condition repairman from Cambodia. He is the youngest of four siblings, and enjoys listening to music in his free time. Heang has strabismus in his right eye. Strabismus is a misalignment of the eye caused by injury or dysfunction in the associated nerves and muscles. It is difficult for Heang to see straight and he often cannot see clearly. Heang traveled to our medical partner's care center to receive treatment. On July 9, surgeons at our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre (CSC), will perform a corrective procedure to align his eyes. Now, Heang needs help to raise $292 to fund this procedure. He says, "I hope that my surgery will be successful so I can see clearly and return to my work."
Joseph is a young man from Kenya. He was diagnosed with cryptorchidism, a condition in which one or both of the testicles remains undescended. If left untreated, Joseph has an increased risk of developing hernias, testicular cancer, and fertility problems in the future. Joseph will be receiving assistance from our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation (AMHF). Fortunately, he is scheduled to undergo corrective surgery on July 4. AMHF is requesting $535 to cover the total cost of his procedure and care.
