Vincent is a child from Kenya. He is the second born in his family. Vincent's mother is a housewife, while his father is a farmer.
When he was one, Vincent’s mother left him in the house unsupervised. He crawled and accidentally fell into a fire and burnt his right hand. His mother rushed him to a nearby dispensary, where he received first aid. However, he then developed a burn contracture. Vincent cannot grip anything as a result of the contracture in his right hand.
Fortunately, our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation, is helping Vincent receive treatment. On March 12, surgeons at their care center will perform a burn contracture release surgery to help Vincent regain use of his right hand to be able to grab, write, and help with chores as he grows up. Now, his family needs help to fund this $799 procedure.
“I will be happy to see my son scribbling something on a paper after a surgery. Thanks Watsi for the help. God bless you," Vincent’s mother says.
