Jenipher is a 17-year-old student form Uganda who is expecting her first child. She enjoys studying English, listening to music, and hanging out with friends. She works alongside her family to grow crops for sale.
Because of Jenipher's youth, her doctors consider her pregnancy to be high-risk. They recommend that she receive medical attention before, during, and after labor to ensure a safe delivery. On July 7, she will begin to receive supplements and attend antenatal checkups and health education classes. She will deliver her baby in the hospital, and she will undergo a C-section if necessary. After birth, Jenipher and her baby will be monitored by the hospital staff.
Our medical partner, The Kellermann Foundation, is requesting $241 to fund hospital monitoring for Jenipher.
Jenipher's mother is extremely grateful for the care her daughter will receive. She says, “I wish to send all my thanks to the donors for their help with my daughter’s pregnancy. Raising three children by myself is difficult and I don’t have much extra money. This is a blessing.”
