Thona is a boy from Cambodia. He has one older brother. He likes to play with toy cars and drink soy milk. He wants to be a police officer when he grows up. A year ago, Thona developed a cataract in his left eye, causing him blurry vision. He has difficulty seeing things clearly, recognizing faces, and going anywhere outside. When Thona learned about our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre, he traveled for five hours seeking treatment. On November 7, doctors will perform a lensectomy and an intraocular lens implant in his left eye. After recovery, he will be able to see clearly. Now, he needs help to fund this $211 procedure. His mother says, "I hope my son's vision improves after the operation."

Kyaw is a 27-year-old from Burma who is bravely fighting a range of challenges. He has lived with cardiac disease since he was a boy, but his family passed away when he was young and his adoptive family was unable to afford the surgery he needed to live a normal life. Despite his desire to support himself, Kyaw is struggling make ends meet on his own because of fatigue and shortness of breath caused by his condition. A $2,000 cardiac surgery is all Kyaw needs to live a life uninhibited by the cardiac problem that’s affected him his whole life.
