Tumwebaze is a 40-year-old mother to four children. She currently earns a living from small-scale farming where she grows food crops for her family to eat and sells the surplus to generate income for her family. Her husband is employed as a taxi driver. Tumwebaze is currently expecting her fifth child and her doctors shared that she will need to deliver her baby with a caesarean section to avoid complications such as a ruptured uterus or fetal distress. Fortunately, doctors at our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare, can help her. They are requesting $264 to fund the cost of her surgery. Now, Tumwebaze needs your help. Tumwebaze shared, “I pray that my surgery is successful, that my baby is healthy, and that I can continue farming after recovering.”

Samnang is a 44-year-old electrician from Cambodia. He was recently married; he and his wife work at the same garment factory in Phnom Penh. They are looking forward to starting a family. Two years ago, Samnang developed a pterygium in his right eye, causing him Irritation, sun burning, and blurry vision. Pterygiums are non-cancerous growths of the conjunctiva, a mucous layer that lubricates the eye. The growths occur when the conjunctiva is exposed to excessive sun damage and the cells grow abnormally over the pupil. He has difficulty seeing things clearly, recognizing faces, working, and going anywhere outside. When Samnang learned about our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre, he traveled for one hour seeking treatment. Samnang needs a surgical procedure to remove the abnormal conjunctiva from the cornea surface and replace it with a conjunctival graft to prevent recurrence. The total cost of his procedure is $216. This covers medications, supplies, and inpatient care for two days. The procedure is scheduled for May 08. Samnang's wife said, "It is sad that he can't come to work with me everyday, and we struggle without his income, so I really hope the doctor can repair his eye."

Saul is a mechanic from Malawi. He lives with his wife, five children, and two grandchildren. He enjoys chatting with his wife in his free time. For eight months, Saul has had a hydrocele, which is a swelling in a sensitive area. He experiences pain due to this condition. Fortunately, on March 21, he will undergo hydrocele repair surgery at Nkhoma Hospital, our medical partner's care center. Our medical partner, World Altering Medicine, is requesting $302 to fund Saul's surgery. The requested money pays for supplies, medications, and six nights of hospital stay. He says, "This is helping me so much because with this condition, I cannot live a normal life; I cannot even properly wear trousers!"

Ren is a 55-year-old cement worker from Cambodia. She has seven children and six grandchildren, and enjoys watching Thai TV dramas in her free time. One year ago, Ren developed a cataract in each eye, causing her blurry and cloudy vision. She has difficulty seeing things clearly, recognizing faces, and going anywhere outside. When Ren learned about our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre, she traveled for four and a half hours seeking treatment. On March 12, doctors will perform a phacoemulsification surgery and an intraocular lens implant in each eye. After recovery, she will be able to see clearly. Now, she needs help to fund this $398 procedure. She says, "I hope that after surgery, I am able to continue my work and see clearly."
