Meet Robinah, a 16-year-old farmer who grows numerous crops with her large family. When Robinah is not tending to the fields, she can be found cooking or playing with her many nieces and nephews. Robinah also enjoys weaving mats and blankets during her free time.
Robinah is pregnant, and because of her age, her doctors consider her pregnancy to be high-risk. They recommend that she receive medical attention before, during, and after labor to ensure a safe delivery. On May 5, she will begin to receive supplements and attend antenatal checkups and health education classes. She will deliver her baby in the hospital, and she will undergo a C-section if necessary. After birth, Robinah and her baby will be monitored by the hospital staff.
Our medical partner, The Kellermann Foundation, is requesting $241 to fund hospital monitoring for Robinah.
Robinah's mother is grateful for the support her daughter will receive. She says, "Thank you for the help for my daughter. We are struggling with many people to care for. This help with a hospital delivery is a great blessing.”
Robinah is looking forward to nursing and raising her new baby.
