Soeun is 37-year-old government worker from Cambodia. He and his wife have a 10-year-old daughter who is in second grade. His wife sells rice at a local market. In his free time he loves to read the news or discovers new topics and books on the internet. In April 2020, Soeun was in motor vehicle accident that caused a fracture to his left femur and a traumatic injury to his left arm. He has been diagnosed with a brachial plexus injury on his left side. The brachial plexus is a nerve network that transmits signals from the spine to the shoulder, arm, and hand. Injuries to this nerve network can result in loss of function and sensation. He received treatment to his femur, but his left arm remains numb and he cannot move it. Soeun traveled to our medical partner's care center to receive treatment. On August 4th, he will undergo a brachial plexus repair surgery. After recovery, he will regain feeling in his shoulder and arm, and will be able to return to work and do all of his daily tasks easily again. Our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre, is requesting $696 to fund this procedure. Soeun said, "I have been very worried about the numbness in my arm, but I am hopeful that after this surgery I will move it again and get my strength back."

Annabel is a friendly seven-year-old girl from Nigeria. She is full of optimism for the future, despite having a disabled left leg. She loves to read and has dreams of becoming a nurse so that she can help others who are sick. Annabel needs her lower left leg to be amputated and to be fitted for an artificial limb. Her parents simply cannot afford the cost of treatment for their daughter. With the $1500 treatment, Annabel will be able to live a near normal life and, more importantly, enable her to achieve her dream of becoming a nurse. Let's work together to rid Annabel of crutches and limitations for good!

Meet Ruth, a one-month-old baby girl from Kenya. Ruth was born with a condition called spina bifida. This leaves her with an open wound on her lower back and at high risk of a tethered cord infection or kyphoscoliosis. Ruth is an only child. Her parents own a plot of land where they practice small scale farming. Ruth's father is not employed and can not pay for the treatment that his daughter needs. In Swahili, Ruth's mother tells the staff at African Mission Healthcare Foundation, "Ruth is so precious to me, and I pray that she gets treatment soon enough so that she can live a healthy life." For $980, we can cover the necessary and urgent surgery required to close the wound exposing Ruth's spine. The surgery will enable Ruth to live a normal and healthy life. Let's make sure Ruth receives treatment and grows into a healthy young girl.

Meet Ratan! Three months ago, she burned her hand with hot cooking oil. She never received proper initial treatment, and now the injury is making it impossible for her to live the life she wants. Ratan says the pain from her burns often keeps her up at night. She has not even been able to hold her newborn baby because of the burning, itching, and discomfort on her hand. For $1,415, Ratan can receive the plastic surgery necessary to decrease discomfort and prevent further complications. Ratan’s husband works in India, while she farms and raises animals in Nepal with her two sons, her parents-in-law, and her brother-in-law’s family. Chorn is a 74-year-old man from Cambodia who likes spending time with his family and listening to the radio. A farmer in a small town, Chorn was in a field when his hip was injured by a cow. Chorn has been diagnosed with a hip fracture, and he’s described the pain as being unbearable. A $500 hip replacement surgery would decrease Chorn’s pain, restore his mobility, and allow him to return to work.
