Math Sa is a 64-year-old fisherman. He has one daughter, four sons, and six grandchildren. He lives with his wife who sells their fish at a local market, and his youngest daughter who is a student. At home, he likes to listen to the news on the radio and visit his mosque.
Two years ago, Math Sa developed a cataract in his right eye, causing him photophobia and blurry vision. Now he is unable to catch fish because it is hard for him to see the nets in bright sun.
When Math Sa learned about our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre, he traveled for three and a half hours seeking treatment. On May 9th, doctors will perform a phacoemulsification cataract surgery, and an intraocular lens implant in his right eye. After recovery, he will be able to see clearly again and do more outside in the daytime. Now, he needs help to fund this $253 procedure.
Math Sa says: "I hope after surgery I can see clearly again. I want to be able to catch fish again to support my family."
