Zin Mar is a lighthearted woman with a great sense of humor who lives with her family in Thailand. When Zin Mar was just six months old, she received an injectable medication that caused sciatic nerve damage and an abscess on her leg. Her parents could not afford the cost of her hospital bills so her condition went untreated. Today, Zin Mar is not able to walk without holding on to a family member for support. Zin Mar says she does not want her family to worry about her wellbeing. She dreams of being able to help support herself and the nine other family members she lives with, but she cannot do that until she is able to stand and walk on her own. For $1500, Zin Mar will receive leg braces, shoe braces, and physical therapy to help her support her own weight and walk without assistance.
