Srey Nith is a 14-year-old student from Cambodia. She lives with her parents, two siblings, and her 87-year-old grandmother. Both of her parents work in construction, while her eldest brother works as a truck driver transporting construction materials. Srey Nith has a twin sister, and both are in the seventh grade. At school, Srey Nith likes to study Khmer history and enjoys playing volleyball with her friends. Ten months ago, while playing with her friends, Srey Nith slipped and fell, breaking her hip. Her parents could not afford surgery for her and hoped that the pain would go away, but since then, she has been frequently missing school as her right leg is unable to support her weight. She is unable to walk or flex her hip, and is in chronic pain. Fortunately, surgeons at our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre, can help. On May 14th, Srey Nith will undergo a fracture repair procedure which will allow her to walk again without pain. Srey Nith's family are able to contribute $75 towards her treatment, and need help raising the remaining $408. Srey Nith says: "I hope the operation will be successful in repairing my hip, allowing me to regain the ability to walk and play volleyball."

Theary is a seven-year-old first grader. She has one older sister, her mother is a farmer, and her father works in factory. Her favorite subjects in school are Khmer and math. Since three months ago, Theary has been experiencing difficulty breathing and sleeping at night, causing her to miss school. Theary recently received a diagnosis of enlarged tonsils and adenoids, which, if not treated, will allow symptoms to persist and possibly intensify over time. Our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre, is requesting $241 to fund a tonsillectomy and adenoidectomy for Theary, which will take place on June 23rd. Surgeons will remove her tonsils and adenoids to relieve Theary of her discomfort. Theary's mother wishes for her daughter to live more comfortably, "I hope my daughter can get well so she can breathe easily and go back to school with her friends."

Keo is a 14-year-old student from Cambodia. She has one older sister, and her parents are vegetable sellers at the market. She is in ninth grade and enjoys reading. She and her sister help with the housework and cooking when their parents return from the market. She also loves to watch dramas on TV. In January 2019, she was riding her bike when she was struck by a car. She suffered a fractured right femur. Her family took her to a private clinic where her fracture was repaired and a nail was fixed in her femur. She has recovered and has no pain, but now she needs to have the hardware removed from the bone Fortunately, surgeons at our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre, can help. On July 7th, Keo will undergo a hardware removal procedure, which will cost $230. Once the nail is removed, Keo will not be at risk for any further complications such as infection or nerve damage. Keo shared, "I am happy my leg is feeling good, but I am worried that I might have a problem in the future. So I hope that this surgery goes well and the nail can come out easily."
