Naserian is a beautiful baby girl from Tanzania. She has been diagnosed with hydrocephalus, a condition in which excess cerebrospinal fluid accumulates in the brain and increases intracranial pressure. As a result of her condition, Naserian has been experiencing an increasing head circumference. Without treatment, Naserian will experience severe physical and developmental delays. Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation, is requesting $1,238 to cover the cost of surgery for Naserian that will treat her hydrocephalus. The procedure is scheduled to take place on May 28 and will drain the excess fluid from Naserian's brain. This will reduce intracranial pressure and greatly improve her quality of life. With proper treatment, Naserian will hopefully develop into a strong, healthy young girl. Naserian’s mother says, “Please help my daughter get this treatment as I want her to be a normal child.”

Turyomunsi is a small-scale farmer from Uganda. She is married with six children. Two years ago, Turyomunsi began to experience troubling symptoms, including headache and difficulty breathing. She was diagnosed with a goiter, an abnormal enlargement of the thyroid gland. She needs surgery to prevent her symptoms from getting worse. Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation, is helping Turyomunsi receive treatment. She is scheduled to undergo a thyroidectomy on April 26 at our medical partner's care center. Surgeons will remove all or part of her thyroid gland. This procedure will cost $240, and she and her family need help raising money. Turyomunsi says, “I hope to get better life style after surgery and I continue with cultivation.”
