Bang Lat is a 78-year-old woman who is married and has two sons and two grandchildren. Bang Lat lives with her husband and their youngest son, who is a farmer. Bang Lat does not farm anymore, and instead stays home to look after her grandchildren.
One year ago, Bang Lat developed a cataract in her right eye, causing her itchiness, tearing, and blurry vision. She has difficulty seeing things clearly, including colors and faces, and is worried about falling when walking, so she is not able to go places on her own.
When Bang Lat learned about our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre, she traveled for eight hours seeking treatment. On March 2nd, doctors will perform a small incision cataract surgery and an intraocular lens implant in her right eye. After recovery, she will be able to see clearly. Now, she needs help to fund this $229 procedure.
Bang Lat shared, "after surgery I hope can see clearly so I can look after my grandchildren and enjoy the view of my beautiful homeland."
