Savoeun is a 58-year-old Tuk Tuk driver. He has two sons, three daughters, and six grandchildren. Savoeun lives with his wife who is a traditional Khmer cake baker. Savoeun shared with us that in his free time, he likes to listen to the news on his phone.
One year ago, Savoeun developed a cataract in his left eye, causing him photophobia and blurry vision. This affects his ability to do his job as a driver.
When Savoeun learned about our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre, he traveled for six and a half hours seeking treatment. On June 7th, doctors will perform a phacoemulsification cataract surgery, and an intraocular lens implant in his left eye. After recovery, he will be able to see clearly. Now, he needs help to fund this $253 procedure.
Savoeun says, "I hope after surgery my eye can see clearly again so I can drive my Tuk Tuk again and earn more money to support my family."
