Seak Kim is a 61-year-old crop farmer with one son and one grandchild. In her free time, she likes to visit the pagoda to listen to monks.
Two years ago, Seak Kim developed a cataract in each eye, causing her blurred vision, tearing, and headaches. She has difficulty seeing things clearly, working, and going anywhere outside.
When Seak Kim learned about our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre, she traveled for two hours seeking treatment. On November 24, doctors performed a small incision cataract surgery and an intraocular lens implant in each eye. After recovery, Seak Kim will be able to see clearly again. Now, she needs help to fund this $292 procedure.
"I hope to see more clearly," she says, "so that I can plant my crops better, do housework, and take care of my grandchildren."
