"Buntheoun's vision began to blur six months ago," Children's Surgical Centre (CSC) tells us about this 57-year-old gentleman from Cambodia. "He has had to stop working as a rice farmer and has a hard time supporting his four children and three grandchildren." "Buntheoun needs his daughter to help care for him which means she cannot work and care for her children," CSC continues. "This makes Buntheoun sad. He hopes the surgery is a success so he can resume work and visit the pagoda on his own." By funding the $150 Buntheoun needs to cover the cost of cataract surgery, we can help the CSC team restore his vision. In no time we can get Buntheoun back to work and listening to the chanting of the monks from the pagoda.

This is Dan, a 10-year-old boy from Uganda. Dan excels in school, is highly optimistic, and loves to play outdoors. Dan is currently fighting a severe case of pneumonia. He has a cough and fever that cause him to be very weak. Before he got sick, he was a very fun, happy, and loving boy who sees what he does have in life and not what he lacks. Our medical partner in Uganda warns of the danger of leaving his pneumonia untreated. His doctors say that "without treatment his lungs will face irreparable damage and he will even face death." Dan comes from a family of farmers who are unable to afford his treatment. But for just $90, Dan can receive the appropriate treatment for his Pneumonia. His doctors say that after treatment, "Dan will be able to grow into a fine young man and be able to live with no long term harmful effects." For $90 Dan can get back to school, and back to a normal life.

This is Ngor. She is 72-years-old, lives in Cambodia, and is grandmother to 30 grandchildren. Right now Ngor has mature cataracts in both of her eyes. "She relies on her son (who has to take time off of work) to care for her," Children's Surgical Centre (CSC) tells us. Without being able to see, Ngor feels like a burden to her family. With $150, the CSC team will be able to remove cataracts from both of Ngor's eyes and give her back her independence. With improved eyesight she'll be able to take care of her animals and garden again.
