“Mornicah is blessed with an interactive family that enjoys farming, budgeting, solving problems, and sharing ideas together,” our medical partners at Lwala Community Alliance (LCA) tell us. Mornicah, a talkative 19-year-old woman from Kenya, is a mother of one. She likes eating chapatis and green grams.
Mornicah is pregnant, and according to our medical partners at LCA, "experiencing headaches and lower abdominal pain, which prevents her from carrying heavy loads." As a result, Mornicah can no longer transport goods to her stall in the market, carry a bucket of water from the river, or bring firewood from the forest for cooking. Mornicah’s husband helps supplement the growing needs of their family by working as a shopkeeper, but Mornicah cannot meet the treatment cost required for her safe delivery.
We can provide Mornicah with the care necessary for a safe delivery. For $290, we can make sure she receives prenatal care, a delivery attended by a qualified clinician, and postnatal care. "I hope for a strong and healthy baby through normal delivery. I pray that if God allows, I will work extra hard in our business for my children and be able to provide them with a better education and a healthy life," says Mornicah. Let's help make Mornicah's hopes a reality.
