"I am looking forward to returning to the farm, cleaning my house again, and playing with my grandchildren," says Khor, a 67-year-old mother of ten and grandmother to twenty. In her free time she enjoys reading the Koran and doing housework.
Khor has mature cataracts in both eyes and pterygium on her left eye, a non-cancerous growth on the eye, which causes her some discomfort. "Her left eye is very red and itchy, and she experiences a constant burning feeling," our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre (CSC), tells us.
In addition, Khor's cataracts have left her partially blind. "Khor can barely see anything, cannot read anymore and cannot do any work," shares CSC.
But the team at CSC can help treat Khor. Like many in Cambodia, she's in need of surgery to remove her cataracts as well as the pterygium.
$150 will help fund some of Khor's care so she can see clearly and be independent again. Let's make it happen.
