Edgar is a hardworking indigenous man from Guatemala. He feels a strong sense of duty to his family, and wants to support them so they can live happy, comfortable lives. Edgar came to Wuqu’Kawoq to be seen for chronic abdominal pain. For several months, he’s suffered from intense pain and bloating that prevent him from working. Imaging studies have shown that Edgar has a large cyst in his liver. The surgery Edgar needs to remove the cyst costs $1300. It would take Edgar more than two years to make enough money to pay for care on his own. We hope to raise the money Edgar needs to cover the cost of radiology and preoperative care, surgery, medicine, and transportation, so he can get healthy and keep supporting his family.
