Neverless is a 38-year-old mother of three from Uganda. She and her husband have two daughters and one son. Neverless grew up in a large family as as the oldest of nine children. She studied up to Primary Seven, and her husband studied until Senior Three. Neverless practices small-scale farming, while her husband works as a builder, to provide for their family. For more than eight years, Neverless has been living with a swelling on her face. The swelling has progressively increased in size with time. The mass causes her to have frequent headaches and dizziness whenever she walks or engages in any strenuous activity. Overall, this condition has significantly affected Neverless's ability to work, and she is often confined to her home, which has caused significant financial stress for her and her family. Neverless has sought treatment from various health facilities, where she was only given painkillers that did not improve her condition. Later, she shared her situation with a friend, who advised her to visit our medical partner's hospital, Rwibaale Hospital. Neverless traveled to the hospital for evaluation, and her doctors determined she needs to undergo surgery to address her condition and alleviate her symptoms. On June 2nd, surgeons at our medical partner's care center will remove the mass. Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare, is requesting $153 to fund her procedure. Neverless said, "I hope to get rid of the frequent headache and dizziness after treatment."

Dallen is a 17-year-old hardworking and polite young woman from Uganda. She is the eldest of four children, one sister and two brothers, all still in school. Three years ago, shortly after completing primary 7 and joining senior 1, Dallen started experiencing some swelling under the armpit and paralysis in her right arm, making it difficult to write. As a result, she was forced to drop out of school. A few months later, while bathing, she noticed a swelling in her breast. She visited a nearby clinic, where she was given oral medication and experienced some improvement. Determined to help her small-scale farmer parents, she found work as a housemaid to contribute towards her younger siblings’ school fees. However, in February this year, the swelling reappeared, this time more severe. She began experiencing other alarming symptoms, including paralysis around the affected area, pins-and-needles pain radiating to her back, and continued weakness in her right arm. Dallen sought help at the nearest government health facility, where she was given painkillers and advised to visit a larger hospital. She came to our medical partner's care center, Karoli Lwanga Nyakibale Hospital, where doctors examined her and conducted a scan, which revealed a small solid lesion in her right breast. Concerned, the surgeon recommended a biopsy to rule out cancer. With her parents’ support, she traveled to Mbarara Regional Referral Hospital, where the biopsy was done. Thankfully, the results confirmed it was not cancerous. Dallen was diagnosed with a solid right breast mass and a surgical excision was recommended. Unfortunately, her parents cannot afford the cost of the surgery and now appeal for support to help Dallen access the treatment she needs, so she can regain her health. Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare, is helping Dallen receive treatment. On August 12th, she will undergo a mass excision surgery, to alleviate her painful symptoms. Now, Dallen's family needs help to fund this $188 procedure. Dallen's parents say, “Our daughter has been in pain for quite a long time, this gets us worried because at the time she was working, she was supportive in helping us pay her siblings' school fees. We kindly request your support so she can get treatment.”

Jocelyn is a loving mother of four from Philippines. She works as a bookkeeper, and her husband works as a part-time sidecar driver while also looking after their children. Despite their hard work, their combined income is just enough for the family's daily needs. Three years ago, Jocelyn began to experience troubling symptoms, including episodes of epigastric pain. Worried about their finances, she chose to defer her checkup. Unfortunately, the symptoms worsened as she began to experience difficulty of breathing, and persistent vomiting. She was brought to the nearest hospital to be given emergency care. The doctor told her to have an abdominal ultrasound. The test showed that she was suffering from gallstones, which can no longer be treated with medicines. Jocelyn has been advised to undergo a cholecystectomy, the surgical removal of the gallbladder. If left untreated, her symptoms will continue to worsen and put him at risk for further health complications in the future. After seeking treatment through our medical partner, World Surgical Foundation Philippines (WSFP), Jocelyn is scheduled to undergo a cholecystectomy on February 17th. A portion of the cost of the procedure is being supported by the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation, and WSFP is raising the remaining $1,128 to cover the cost of Jocelyn's surgery and care. Jocelyn shared, "I'd like to thank WATSI and World Surgical Foundation Philippines for sponsoring my surgery. May you continue helping people who are financially incapable of paying for their surgeries. You are an answered prayer!"
