Tushabe is a small-scale farmer from Uganda. She is married with seven children. For six months, Tushabe has been experiencing severe lower abdominal bleeding. She has been diagnosed with chronic pelvic pain, degenerative uterine fibroids, and a poorly healed perineal tear. She needs to undergo a hysterectomy, a procedure in which surgeons will remove her uterus. Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation, is requesting $208 to fund Tushabe's surgery. On January 31, she will undergo gynecological surgery at our medical partner's care center. Once recovered, Tushabe will be able to resume her daily activities free of pain. Tushabe says, “I wish my hope can be restored to enable me continue with cultivation for the support to my family after surgery.”

Chet is a rice farmer from Cambodia. He has one brother and four sisters. He likes to do sports, listen to classical music, and go for walks. Two months ago, Chet was injured while working and the accident caused a fracture in his left leg. It is difficult for him to walk Fortunately, surgeons at our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre, can help. On January 3, Chet will undergo a fracture repair procedure, which will cost $430. This procedure will help him walk easily again. He says, "I hope I can walk easily and won't be in pain after surgery."

Nat is a mechanic from Cambodia. He is married and has one son. He likes to watch TV in his free time. Three years ago, Nat had an ear infection. This infection caused a cholesteatoma, or an abnormal skin growth, to develop in the middle ear behind the ear drum. For this reason, Nat experiences ear discharge, tinnitus, hearing loss, and itchiness. It is difficult for him to hear well. Nat traveled to our medical partner's care center to receive treatment. On January 8, he will undergo a mastoidectomy procedure in his left ear. During this procedure, ENT surgeons will remove the cholesteatoma. Our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre, is requesting $842 to fund this procedure. This covers medications, supplies, and inpatient care. His wife says, "I hope that my husband's surgery goes well. I worry about his hearing loss."
