Doung is a father of three from Cambodia. He likes to look after his rice farm and spend time with his family. For the last two years, he has had recurrent ear infections. Three months ago, he got a particularly bad infection and the doctor at the clinic noticed a growth in his ear. It causes pain and swelling. Doung traveled to our medical partner's care center to receive treatment. On December 19, surgeons at our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre (CSC), will remove the mass. Now, Doung needs help to raise $220 to fund this procedure. He says, "I hope I can get surgery and my ear will improve."

Basirwire is a 49-year-old woman from Uganda. She works as a farmer. For the past year, Basirwire has experienced lower abdominal pain and painful gynecological symptoms. This has caused her discomfort and limited her ability to do household chores. A gynecologist diagnosed her with multiple fibroids and recommended a total abdominal hysterectomy. After surgery, Basirwire will be able to keep farming without pain. Basirwire says, “I am very lucky, as I look forward to receiving the support from Watsi and after surgery, I hope to continue with farming.” Watsi is requesting $208 to fund Basirwire's surgery, scheduled for August 17.

Resty is a young 27-year-old mother from Uganda. Resty has a certificate in tailoring and opened her own tailor shop three years ago. When she is not busy at work, Resty enjoys digging in the fields and planting crops. Resty is currently teaching herself to weave table mats and cloths, and hopes to be able to sell them in the future. Resty developed a rectovaginal fistula following the birth of her first child four months ago. She experiences incontinence and discomfort, and has had to stop working due to her symptoms. Our medical partner, The Kellermann Foundation, has organised for Resty to undergo fistula repair surgery on November 2. Resty needs our help to fund the $547 procedure. "It has been so difficult for me. I would like thank all the donors for their help and support," says Resty.
