With two sisters, Vandy is the energetic boy of the family. He loves playing games with his friends but has a hard time moving around due to his permanent knee dislocation. Vandy was born with congenital dislocation of the patella (knee bone), an uncommon condition where the bone is displaced, leading to deformities of the leg and severe impairment to joint function. Early intervention produces the best results, so surgeons at Children’s Surgical Centre want to help improve Vandy’s mobility by performing a procedure which will release the tension in his quadriceps (thigh) muscles. With our help and $300, Vandy will be able to walk, run, and play freely like every nine-year-old kid deserves to.
