Meet Nathalie, a two-year-old living in the Haitian countryside with her mom, dad, and three siblings. Her mother and father work in the field to grow food for the family, but cannot afford the cost of healthcare. Nathalie was born with a cleft lip and is living with the complications arising from this condition. Her mother says little Nathalie “has the flu very often and is uncomfortable when she is playing with other kids.” Our medical partner, Project Medishare, writes, “Her family is expecting to send her to school soon but they wish that she could have a successful surgery to fix her deformation.” $960 will pay for Project Medishare to provide the corrective surgeries necessary to repair Nathalie’s cleft lip.

This is sweet Rosanika, an eight-year-old girl from Nepal. Our medical partner, Possible, shares, “Rosanika studies in Standard 1 at a local primary school. She likes Nepali language classes the most because the teacher tells them good stories. She likes skipping during the break at school.” She lives with thirteen family members who work in agriculture. To supplement the family’s income, Rosanika’s father works as a wage laborer in towns of India. When playing near her house, Rosanika fell and sustained an injury to her right elbow. Her doctors say, “She developed pain and swelling in the right elbow region after the incident and it was difficult for her to move the forearm.” For $205, we can help Rosanika access the treatment necessary to heal her elbow. Our medical partner is confident that after treatment, “Rosanika will be able to move her hand. Agnes is a happy young girl from Tanzania! She’s three-years-old and lives with her grandparents who are small scale farmers. Agnes has knocked knees, which make it difficult for her to walk. Without treatment, Agnes will be at risk for developing early osteoarthritis. “Agnes is a friendly and very active little girl. Her legs keep on bending and we are afraid she will fail to walk as she continues to grow older. We hope she can get medical treatment to restore normal functionality of her limbs so that she can continue to grow like other children and pursue her future dreams,” says Agnes’ grandmother.
