Meet Chanthoeun! She is four and lives in Cambodia with her mother, who is pregnant. Chanthoeun is excited to have a brother or sister. Her favorite activity is going to school. Chanthoeun first came to the Children's Surgical Centre when she was three days old. She was born with syndactyly, a fusion of digits, on her hands and feet as well as with a severe nasal deformity. She has had two operations to address these conditions, but she still has problems breathing and sleeping because of her nasal condition. Luckily, Chanthoeun's condition can be resolved through surgery. For $225, Chanthoeun will receive rhinoplasty, which will improve her breathing and allow her to get better nights' sleep before the baby comes!
