Su is a 12-year-old student from Burma. She lives with her parents and six-year-old sister in San Ywar Gyi Village, Myanaung Township, Ayeyarwady Division. In her free time, Su likes to listen to music and dance. One year ago, Su began to experience itchiness, pain, and blurry vision. These symptoms have made it increasingly difficult for her to see clearly. Su was diagnosed with retinal detachment, a condition in which the retina pulls away from the supportive tissue in the eye, resulting in vision loss. If left untreated, she could lose vision completely. Su is scheduled to undergo surgery to reattach her retina on November 22. Our medical partner, Burma Children Medical Fund, is requesting $1,500 to cover the total cost of her procedure and care. After his surgery, Su's vision will hopefully be restored, and she will resume her daily activities comfortably. Su says, "I want to become a teacher in the future."

Dorcas is 44 years old and lives in Kenya with her husband and their four children. Dorcas runs a small kiosk with her husband to support their family and pay for their children's school. Lately, Dorcas has noticed that her menses have been heavier and have lasted longer than before. She went to our partner institution, African Mission Healthcare Foundation, and doctors identified uterine fibroids, non-cancerous growths on the uterus, as the cause of her prolonged menstrual cycles and overall weakness. For $885, Dorcas will receive a total abdominal hysterectomy, that will remove the uterine growths and stop the painful bleeding. Dorcas' family says, "We hope she is relieved of her pain and bleeding." Let's help grant Dorcas and her family their wishes, and give Dorcas a happier and healthier life!

Zin is a 19-year-old girl who was born with a mass on the left side of her stomach. One morning in April, she woke up completely numb on her left side. Unable to move, Zin was confined to her house. She soon started experiencing headaches, heaviness in her legs, and joint pain. For an entire month, Zin relied entirely on her younger sister to take care of her. Zin’s mother had to borrow money from friends for transportation costs to take Zin to an urban clinic where she was diagnosed with a kidney cyst. Zin’s mother is very worried about her daughter's health, and about their growing hospital bills. Zin needs a $1,330 surgery to remove the cyst and restore her quality of life. Let's fund her surgery so she can get back to living a healthy life!

Timoteo is a delightful 15-year-old from a Guatemalan community with which our medical partner, Wuqu' Kawok, has been partnered for a long time. In fact, his older sister is on the counsel of leaders, which coordinates Wuqu' Kawok's nutrition program in the community! Lately Timoteo is experiencing progressive hoarseness and pain when talking, which unfortunately hasn't responded to general medical therapy. This suggests that he probably has a lesion on his vocal cords. Fortunately, throat cancer can likely be ruled out considering his young age. Timoteo is very embarrassed by this condition, but he is positive despite it. He doesn’t even complain of the pain, but he says that he is looking forward to having this behind him. Timeteo is a great kid who could really use our help. Wuqu' Kawok is seeking $800 to fund Timoteo's treatment and correct his condition.
