Sunday is a 46-year old father of four from Uganda, who specializes in planting and selling beans and maize.
Sunday currently lives with a right inguinal hernia, which causes sporadic swelling and constant pain. He cannot sleep on his back or lift heavy items. If not treated, the hernia might result in intestinal incarceration, obstruction or strangulation.
In his pre-operative interview at the hospital, Sunday shared: “I feel a lot of pain which stops me from working.”
Sunday has worked to fund one of his children through his third year in University. He wants to get back to work in the fields so he can fund his child fully through their education.
$220 funds a hernia repair operation for Sunday. After the repair, Sunday should feel normal again and will not be at risk of incarceration, obstruction or strangulation.
