Sour is a rice farmer from Cambodia. He has two sons, three daughters, and ten grandchildren. He likes listening to the monk pray on the radio.
One year ago, Sour developed a cataract in his left eye, causing him photophobia, blurred vision, tearing, and itching. He has difficulty seeing things clearly, recognizing faces, and going anywhere outside.
When Sour learned about our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre, he traveled for three and a half hours seeking treatment. On April 24, doctors will perform a small incision cataract surgery and an intraocular lens implant in his left eye. After recovery, he will be able to see clearly. Now, he needs help to fund this $211 procedure.
He says, "I look forward to going to the local pagoda and being able to recognize my loved ones' faces again."
