Meet Nancy, a playful five-year-old girl from Kenya. Nancy has been in and out of the hospital for different medical issues. Her hearing loss is a congenital problem that her parents noticed when she was nine months old. She has never spoken, and her sound perception is quite low. On November 13, Nancy will receive hearing aids through our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation (AMHF). To help fund the hearing aids, AMHF is requesting $712 on top of the $52 contribution from Nancy's parents. Nancy's father says, “I want to see my child talk and hear. I will be happy to see her grow like a normal child."

Srey Ing is 16 years old and in the tenth grade. She has two sisters and two brothers. She likes to watch movies on TV and draw pictures of flowers. In 2013, Srey Ing was in a motorbike accident that caused a fracture in her left jaw and the humerus of her left arm. She was treated in a hospital in Phnom Penh, but her symptoms did not improve. Srey Ing first visited our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre (CSC), in 2015. She was diagnosed with temporomandibular joint ankylosis, a condition in which her jaw bone is fused by bony tissues. This condition made it difficult for her to open her mouth to eat and speak. At CSC, she underwent an osteotomy procedure and completed physiotherapy. Though her symptoms improved, she still had difficulty opening her mouth. On November 29, surgeons at CSC performed another osteotomy procedure to heal Srey Ing's fracture and alleviate her pain. This procedure will allow her to use her mouth easily again. Now, she needs help to pay her $411 medical bill.

Tadesse has had scoliosis for most of his life. His condition has worsened over the past few years, and it's now so severe that it's reducing his lung capacity and making it difficult for him to breathe. Tadesse is a college student. He's studying biology in the hopes of becoming a teacher. He loves school, but isn't able to fully participate because of his scoliosis. He lives in Ethiopia, and traveled all the way to Ghana to seek treatment from our medical partner, which specializes in the kind of surgery he needs. For $1300, Tadesse will undergo surgery to correct his spine and restore his full lung capacity. This will significantly improve his quality of life so that he can once again enjoy the activities he loves. "My family would be glad for any help you can give me," Tadesse says. Let's make it happen for him!

Julius is an affectionate child who loves to stay close to his mother, who is a homemaker. Julius' father tends to and sells cattle, which provides their family with some income. Julius was born with clubbed feet, a condition which causes his feet to angle inwards and makes it difficult for him to walk or even stand properly. “I pray that Julius will be able to walk like the rest of my children,” says Julius’ mother. For $500, we can make sure Julius receives the surgery he needs to correct his feet and give him the mobility to grow up healthy. After treatment, Julius will be to walk and play with his siblings, go to school, and live a normal life!
