Yat is a 67-year-old mother of four from Cambodia. She has five grandchildren and enjoys visiting the pagoda in her free time.
Six months ago, Yat developed a cataract in her left eye, causing her blurry vision and tearing. She has difficulty seeing things clearly, recognizing faces, and going anywhere outside.
When Yat learned about our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre, she traveled for three and a half hours seeking treatment. On August 1, doctors will perform a phacoemulsification cataract surgery and an intraocular lens implant in her left eye. After recovery, she will be able to see clearly. Now, she needs help to fund this $211 procedure.
She says, "I hope that I will be able to see clearly again so I can take care of my children and grandchildren."
