Cathereen is mother of three from Malawi. Cathereen lives with her mother-in-law, and she spends her days caring for her young children and helping her mother-in-law with household duties. In her free time, Cathereen likes to attend her local church with her family and play with her kids.
Since the birth of her third child, Cathereen has had an umbilical hernia. This hernia causes discomfort and keeps Cathereen from being able to function as well as she needs to in her daily life. Fortunately, on February 6, she will undergo hernia repair surgery at Nkhoma Hospital, our medical partner's care center.
Our medical partner, World Altering Medicine, is requesting $334 to fund Cathereen's surgery. The requested money pays for supplies, medications, and six nights of hospital stay. Cathereen was thrilled to find out her surgery would be funded.
She says, "I was so worried. I had no money and I didn't know what I would do. Now I am relieved and so happy!"
