Vin is a 26-year-old guy from Cambodia with bilateral esotropia, a condition that causes his eyes to face inward and makes it difficult for him to see clearly. Vin is embarrassed about his condition, and says it has made it nearly impossible for him to find a job. As a result, he's had to resort to working on his grandmother's potato farm, but he doesn't make enough money to support himself. He desperately wants a new job, and he thinks that if his condition is corrected, he'll have a shot at landing one. In fact, he's already identified a garment factory near his house that he plans to apply to if his eye condition is corrected successfully. For $250 CSC can provide Vin surgery that will correct his estropia and give him a real shot at landing a better job and starting a new life for himself. We're rooting for you Vin!

Edgar is a hardworking indigenous man from Guatemala. He feels a strong sense of duty to his family, and wants to support them so they can live happy, comfortable lives. Edgar came to Wuqu’Kawoq to be seen for chronic abdominal pain. For several months, he’s suffered from intense pain and bloating that prevent him from working. Imaging studies have shown that Edgar has a large cyst in his liver. The surgery Edgar needs to remove the cyst costs $1300. It would take Edgar more than two years to make enough money to pay for care on his own. We hope to raise the money Edgar needs to cover the cost of radiology and preoperative care, surgery, medicine, and transportation, so he can get healthy and keep supporting his family.

Srey Nory is in the sixth grade and one of the top 10 students in her class. She told her doctors that her dream is to be a doctor like them one day. Srey Nory is the youngest of four children, and in her free time she likes to play with her siblings. Unfortunately, Srey Nory was born with a medical condition that could prevent her from realizing her dreams. She has syndactyly, a condition that causes three of her fingers to be fused together on her right hand. Because of her condition, Srey Nory has trouble writing and doing simple tasks. Without treatment, it will be difficult for Srey Nory to keep up in school, despite her intelligence and motivation. Srey Nory comes from a part of Cambodia where the average person makes around $2 a day. Her parents want their daughter to get the care she needs, but they simply cannot afford it. We need to raise the $350 needed to completely cover the cost of Srey Nory’s care at Children’s Surgical Centre. With surgery and skin grafting, doctors at CSC believe they can give Srey Nory improved use of her hand and a shot at the successful, happy life she deserves.

Kennedy is a 14-year-old boy with a leg deformity. Because of his condition, Kennedy experiences severe pain and discomfort when he walks. Without treatment, he will be unable to live a normal, active life. Fortunately, doctors at CURE can perform surgery to loosen the contracted tendon in Kennedy’s leg. They say they are confident that this procedure will “reverse the unfortunate event that has haunted him and made him different from all his friends.” Kennedy is your typical teenaged boy – he likes school but is crazy about sports. He cannot wait for the day he is able to join the rest of the boys on the soccer team and keep up. We’re excited to fund his treatment and make it happen!
