Sam Eth is an 18-year-old student who lives in Cambodia with five sisters and one brother. When she's not studying, she enjoys doing housework and reading books.
Sam Eth was struggling with a serious infection in both ears, which caused her eardrums to perforate. She was experiencing pain in both ears and hearing loss in her left ear.
Five days of medication did nothing to alleviate Sam Eth's symptoms. When she learned about our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre (CSC), she traveled two hours by taxi seeking care. On October 18, 2016, Sam Eth underwent minor ear surgery, during which CSC doctors drained the fluid from her ears.
Now, Sam Eth's family needs help to pay for this $127 surgery. Over time, the pain should stop, and her hearing should improve.
"I hope the ear infection is healed and I am in good health," says Sam Eth. "I want to work in a bank."
Sam Eth's sister, who accompanied her to surgery, says, "I hope my sister's pain stops, and she goes to school as usual with good health."
