Sovapich is a 45-year-old housewife from Cambodia. She is married with four children and one grandchild. She likes to use Facebook. Six weeks ago, she fell indoors and injured her forearm, breaking her ulna and dislocating her radius at the elbow. She was not able to afford surgery and first tried traditional medicine. She finds it difficult to do housework now. Fortunately, surgeons at our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre, can help. On January 9, Sovapich will undergo a fracture repair procedure, which will cost $430. This treatment should improve the use of her arm, reduce pain, and improve mobility. She says, "I hope I can be better after the operation."

Chilamanda is a farmer from Malawi. Chilamanda lives with his wife, and they have six grown children. To supplement the family income, Chilamanda raises goats. In his free time, he likes to relax and listen to the radio. Since Decemebr 2017, Chilamanda has been experiencing pain and urinary dificulty. These symptoms are caused by an enlarged prostate, a condition called benign prostatic hyperplasia. He needs to undergo a prostate resection surgery, a procedure in which surgeons will remove part of the enlarged gland. Our medical partner, World Altering Medicine, is requesting $733 to fund Chilamanda's surgery. On January 9, he will undergo prostate surgery at Nkhoma Hospital, our medical partner's care center. The requested money pays for supplies, medications, and two weeks of hospital stay. Chilamanda and his family were thrilled to find out his surgery would be funded, and he is looking forward to going home and being active. He says, "Thank you."

Aminiel is a primary school boy from Tanzania. He is the fifth born in a family of six children. Aminieli's parents are both livestock keepers, so they depend on selling milk and meat to meet their daily needs. They are trying to save money to send him to private high school. For three years, Aminiel has been experiencing breathing difficulties. Frequent illness causes him to miss school. Aminiel was recently diagnosed with enlarged tonsils, which, if not treated, will cause his symptoms to persist and possibly intensify over time. Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation, is requesting $633 to fund a tonsillectomy for Aminiel, which is scheduled to take place on January 4. Surgeons will remove his tonsils, hopefully relieving Aminiel of his symptoms and helping him live more comfortably. Aminieli’s mother says, “Please help my son get treatment. He is struggling to breathe. He has been getting sick frequently and he is not sleeping well.”
