Muganzi is a teacher from Uganda. He is 44 years old and a father of seven children. Three weeks ago, Muganzi developed a swelling on his elbow joint. It has been gradually increasing in size and becoming painful. Muganzi traveled to our medical partner's care center to receive treatment. On November 28, surgeons will remove the mass. Now, Muganzi needs help to raise $196 to fund this procedure. Muganzi says, "After surgery I will resume working as a primary teacher."

Natukunda is a primary school teacher from Uganda. She is married with nine children. Natukunda has had a swelling on her head for two years. This causes her discomfort and disfigurement and if not treated, the mass will increase in size. Natukunda traveled to our medical partner's care center to receive treatment. On November 20, surgeons will remove the mass. Now, Natukunda needs help to raise $187 to fund this procedure. Natukunda says, “I will have a better life after surgery and continue with teaching when my mind is at peace.”

Chiv is a motorcycle taxi driver from Cambodia. He is married. He likes playing chess and watching boxing matches. Seven years ago, Chiv developed a cataract in his right eye, causing him blurry vision, tearing, irritation, itching, and photophobia. He has difficulty seeing things clearly, recognizing faces, and going anywhere outside. When Chiv learned about our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre, he traveled for four hours seeking treatment. On December 12, doctors will perform a small incision cataract surgery and an intraocular lens implant in his right eye. After recovery, he will be able to see clearly. Now, he needs help to fund this $211 procedure. He says, "I hope I can see well so I can return to work and earn money to support my family."

Rose and her husband work hard to provide for their family. With a new child on the way, they have been doing what they can to prepare, including attending the maternal health program at Lwala Community Alliance. Rose has been experiencing lower abdominal pain, exacerbated by strenuous work such as farming the family plot. She wants nothing more than a healthy family, and this $215 will provide the crucial medical care an expectant mother needs to deliver a healthy baby. The money raised here will cover Rose’s antenatal care, a hospital delivery and post-birth checkup for mom and baby. Due any day now, Rose wants to give her new baby the best chance at being healthy.
