Sok Heng is a nine-year-old student in the third grade. She has two siblings, including a younger brother and an older sister. Her father works in construction, while her mother works in a factory. When she is not in school, she likes to read books and play games with her older sister. Her favorite subject is math, and she would like to be an engineer when she grows up.
Since she was two months old, Sok Heng has had a mass on her upper lip. She was treated at a local hospital with medication, but the mass has continued to grow and she experiences discomfort. She has been diagnosed with a hemangioma, or a bump made up of extra blood vessels in the skin.
Fortunately, our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre (CSC), is helping Sok Heng to receive treatment. She traveled to CSC's care center where, on December 3rd, surgeons will remove the mass. Now, Sok Heng needs help raising $231 to fund her procedure and care.
Sok Heng's mother shared, "I hope she gets better after surgery, and she can go to school and look like other children."
