Alan is a nine-year-old boy from Colombia. He dreams of becoming a police officer to help people. He is a curious child who performs well academically. However, constant pain and oral discomfort have affected his concentration, attendance, and participation in school activities. About a year ago, he was examined for the first time by a pediatric dentist, who diagnosed multiple deep cavities. Since then, he has been under observation, but the progression of the disease has been associated with intense and persistent pain, inflammation, infection, and difficulty eating and sleeping. On January 21st, Alan will undergo dental surgery under general anesthesia with the help of our medical partner, Clinica Noel. He needs help to raise $868 to fund his procedure and care that will allow him to live more comfortably. Alan's mother says, "I would like to express my sincere gratitude for helping my son. We have been waiting to undergo this procedure for some time. I thank you from the bottom of my heart."

15-month-old Ayani lives with his parents and one brother in Ethiopia. His father works as an electrician, while his mother takes care of the home. When he was six months old, Ayani's parents took him to a local health center due to a skin rash. The doctor who examined him discovered that Ayani had an undescended testicle. He assured Ayani's parents that the condition could be resolved surgically, and referred them to a larger public hospital for treatment. After waiting for nine months, the family was referred to our medical partner's care center, BethanyKids Myungsung Christian Medical Centre (BKMCM), where he will undergo corrective surgery on January 6th. Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare, is seeking $754 to cover the costs of Ayani's procedure and care, which will prevent him from developing hernias, testicular cancer, and fertility problems in the future. Ayani&'s mother said: "Your kindness and humility remind me of how someone gets service when they pay a significant amount, and we are treated like that. We sincerely hope for our child's successful surgery, and pray for that outcome."

Meng Hong is a 17-year-old student from the Kampong Spueu province, Cambodia. He is the oldest among three siblings. His father works as a poultry farmer, and his mother manages the household and cares for the children. In his free time, he enjoys reading books, listening to music, and eating fried beef and pork. When he was seven months old, Meng Hong rolled off a bed, injuring his right leg. As he started to learn to walk, his parents noted that his right foot and ankle were misaligned, and his condition worsened over time. Meng Hong finds it difficult to walk and experiences pain in his foot and ankle. Several years ago, Meng Hong's parents took him to a children's hospital, where the recommended treatment was amputation, which his parents refused. Fortunately, surgeons at our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre, can help. On October 1st, Meng Hong will undergo a fracture repair procedure to correct the position of his ankle and foot, reduce his chronic pain, and help him walk. Meng Hong and his parents believe this will allow him to focus on his studies, achieve his dream of becoming a teacher, and make it possible for him to participate in more activities with his peers. Meng Hong's family needs help to fund this $588 surgery. Meng Hong's mother said: "After the surgery, I hope my son will no longer experience pain when walking and that he can continue attending school."

Lechisa is 22 years old and the oldest of four siblings from Ethiopia. His father passed away recently. Now, with three younger siblings and a grieving mother relying on him, he has been forced to assume the role of the father of the family. The heavy weight of his family’s future rests on the shoulders of this 22-year-old Grade 9 student. Though his overwhelming responsibilities have caused him to fall behind, he has courageously persisted in his education, repeatedly returning to school despite the pain and the aggressive work required to care for his younger siblings. He helps his mother on the farm to support the family. Four years ago, Lechisa started to experience swelling in his leg. It was causing pain and discomfort, making it difficult to walk. Following a consultation with our medical partner, Saglan Wajee General Hospital, doctors have recommended that Lechisa undergo a sequestrectomy, a surgical procedure involving the removal of fragments of infected, dead bone or tissue. If not treated, it can lead to recurrent infections that may result in life-threatening complications. Fortunately, on December 6th, Lechisa will undergo treatment, and he needs help to raise $900 to fund his procedure and care. Lechisa shared, "My future is filled with potential and many aspirations, yet this vision is brutally narrowed by my chronic pain. When it intensifies, pain is the only reality I can grasp. I long for liberation—to be pain-free, to continue my studies without interruption, and to reclaim the joy of living."

Rayvan is a three-year-old boy from Tanzania and the middle child in his family of three. His parents practice small-scale farming, growing primarily maize and cassava, to meet their family's needs. Rayvan was diagnosed with bilateral genu varus. Shortly after he started walking, his legs began bowing. Several factors can cause this condition, such as growth disorders, vitamin deficiencies, or excessive fluoride found in contaminated drinking water. As a result, the knees can be angled inwards or outwards, making it difficult to walk and may cause long-term joint damage. For Rayvan, this condition has made him less active and affected his confidence. On January 16th, Rayvan will undergo surgery at our medical partner's care center, Kafika House. This treatment will restore his mobility, allow him to participate in a variety of activities, and greatly decrease his risk of future complications. Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare, is requesting $777 to fund Rayvan's treatment. Rayan's mother said, "I hope that one day Rayvan won't even remember that he had this conditon making it hard for him to walk properly."

Christopher is 35 years old and a father of two from Malawi. He has a motorbike transport business, which supports his family. In 2015, Christopher was diagnosed with a right inguinal hernia. It started as a painless swelling, but by 2023, pain developed, and the symptoms worsened to the point that he could barely work. He had been seeking treatment from the regional referral hospital, but surgery could not be done due to the long waiting lists. He was then referred to our medical partner's care center, Partners In Hope Medical Center, where he was assessed and recommended for surgery. Christopher is hopeful that surgery will restore his health, allowing him to return to his business and continue providing for his family. Fortunately, on December 10th, he will undergo hernia repair surgery, and our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare, is requesting $575 to fund Christopher's surgery. Once completed, this procedure will hopefully allow him to live more comfortably and confidently. Christopher shared, “The swelling episodes scare me now. I feel like something might burst. This has completely disrupted my daily activities, and I really need your help.”

Sotheary is a 17-year-old ice seller from Cambodia. He lives in Kompong Thum province with his parents, who work as rice farmers. Sotheary works at a small business in his hometown that sells ice to local market vendors. In his free time, he enjoys playing soccer with his friends in the village and playing games on his phone. On December 5th, 2025, Sotheary was in a motorbike accident that caused a left ankle fracture. He is unable to walk, and he is in chronic pain. Fortunately, surgeons at our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre, can help. On December 10th, Sotheary will undergo a fracture repair procedure, which will help him walk easily again. His family can contribute $100, but needs help to raise $500 more to fund his procedure and care. Sotheary's mother said, "After surgery, I hope that my son will be able to walk again and feel no pain, so he can return to work and play sports."

At only four years old, Thiago already lights up the world with his joy. He is always smiling, always ready to share and enjoy every moment as if it were a new adventure. His eyes shine when he runs after a ball, imagining he is in a giant stadium, surrounded by applause. Thiago wants to be a soccer player, and with his pure passion and giant heart, no dream is too big for him. Thiago was brought to our medical partner Clinical Noel, experiencing severe tooth decay. The condition has been causing him pain, inflammation of the gum accompanied by increased sensitivity, and weakening of the teeth. If not treated in time, it can lead to more severe infection and a risk of tooth loss. To help Thiago, our medical partner, Clínica Noel, is requesting for $868 to cover the cost of his treatment. The procedure is scheduled for 15th July and once completed, will hopefully allow him to live more comfortably and confidently. Thiago's mother says: "Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your generosity and kindness. Your support at this important time is of immense value to our family. The help you will provide represents a significant opportunity to improve my son's health and well-being. It fills me with hope to know that there are people like you, who act with empathy and sincerely care about the welfare of others."

Por is a second-grade student from Cambodia. He is seven years old and the only child in his family. He lives with his parents in a rural village in Kampong Cham province. His mother works as a tailor, and his father is a cashew farmer. In school, he likes mathematics. At home, Por enjoys playing with his toy cars, and his favorite meals are fried meats like chicken and pork served with rice. For the last four years, Por has been experiencing recurring fevers, difficulty breathing and swallowing, and loud snoring at night. Recently, his mother noticed that his tonsils have enlarged significantly, making them visible and causing him additional discomfort, especially while eating and sleeping. Por was recently diagnosed with enlarged tonsils and adenoids, which, if not treated, will cause his symptoms to persist and possibly intensify over time. Our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre, is requesting $265 to fund a tonsillectomy and adenoidectomy for Por, which is scheduled to take place on May 13th. Surgeons will remove his tonsils and adenoids, hopefully relieving Por of his symptoms and helping him live much more comfortably. Por's mother said: "After this operation, we want Por to be healthy again and return to school regularly."

Hay, a 26-year-old man from Burma, lives with his wife, his cousin, her husband, and their two children. Currently unemployed, he and his family are receiving assistance from his sister-in-law and also borrow money from their neighbor. In his free time Hay likes to listen to music. Hay has been experiencing pain in the left side of his lower back when he engages in physical work at home. He has been diagnosed with kidney stones, and doctors at our medical partner's care center, Maharaj Nakron Chiang Mai Hospital, advised him to undergo a procedure to remove them. Previously, he was the sole income earner in their household, but he lost his job due to the condition. Our medical partner, Burma Children Medical Fund, is requesting $1,500 to fund a percutaneous nephrolithotomy procedure. The treatment is scheduled to take place on February 17th and, once completed, it will alleviate his pain, allowing him to go back to work. Hay said, “I am very stressed right now. I feel like I am a burden to my cousin, and we do not even have money to come back home to see my son. I really hope that after the treatment, I can find some work around here to make money to go home.”

Michael is 41 years old and a motorcycle delivery rider from the Philippines. Michael was an active person who loved to play basketball. Last October 2024, Michael decided to stop working because he could no longer travel or perform his job effectively due to his condition. Michael's symptoms started when he was still young. Due to the need to work and support his family, he did not seek medical attention for his condition, and it was neglected over time. As a result, his condition worsened. In 2024, Michael began to experience troubling symptoms, including difficulty passing stool and bleeding. He was diagnosed with an anal fistula and needed immediate surgical intervention to prevent his symptoms from getting worse. Fortunately, our medical partner, World Surgical Foundation Philippines (WSFP), is helping Michael receive treatment. He is scheduled to undergo surgery on March 19th. A portion of the cost of his treatment is being supported by the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation, and WSFP is raising the remaining $1,257 to cover the cost of Michael's procedure and care. Michael shared, "Given our current financial situation, we really do not have the means to pay for the necessary surgery so this opportunity for a free operation is a huge blessing. I am grateful for the assistance and support extended to people in need like me. Thank you very much."

Chhinhuy is a five-year-old boy and the oldest of three children from Cambodia. His mother stays at home to care for the children, while his father works as a technician in a camera shop in Phnom Penh. Chhinhuy is currently in kindergarten and enjoys studying Chinese and English. He dreams of becoming a police officer when he grows up. At home, he loves eating apples and enjoys playing with his siblings. Chhinhuy was born with Erb's palsy, a complication of a difficult delivery. The condition causes weakness of the arm and limited function in his hand. He has been diagnosed with a brachial plexus injury on his right side. The brachial plexus is a nerve network that transmits signals from the spine to the shoulder, arm, and hand. Injuries to this nerve network can result in loss of function and sensation. His mother is concerned about this condition and how it might affect his right hand as he grows older, especially with everyday tasks like writing and feeding himself. Chhinhuy traveled to our medical partner's care center, Kien Khleang National Rehabilitation Centre, to receive treatment. This is the only center in the whole country where this treatment is available. On February 12th, he will undergo a brachial plexus repair surgery. After recovery, he will have improved function of his arm and hand. Our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre, is requesting $709 to fund this procedure. Chhinhuy's mother shared, "I hope that he can use his hand more easily and not have difficulty as he gets older."
