Meet Naipa, a 47-year-old man from Kenya. Naipa is a married father with five young children. He enjoys volunteering at his local church.
“Naipa has two cows that he keeps,” our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation (AMHF), tells us. “His wife milks them and sells the milk to help support their home. Napa also works on casual construction sites whenever the opportunity arises.”
Two years ago, Naipa started to lose his eyesight due to cataracts. “Naipa is gradually losing his vision in both his eyes,” AMHF explains. “He also has a membrane growing over his eyes that needs to be removed or it will cover his eyes completely, blinding him.”
Without surgery, Naipa may become fully blind in the future.
“I am not able to see well at night and have to be very careful during the day to ensure that I do not lose my footing,” Naipa tells us. “I cannot wait to be able to see well again!”
For $230, we can provide cataract and pterygium removal surgery to prevent permanent blindness. Naipa will be able to continue working to support his family.
