Chanthoeurn is a 46-year-old rice and vegetable farmer from Cambodia. She is married with two sons, two daughters, and one grandchild. In her free time, she likes to listen to monks pray at the pagoda and listen to music and the news on the radio.
About two years ago, Chanthoeurn developed a cataract in both eyes, which cause her to experience blurred vision and tearing. It is difficult for her to see things clearly, recognize faces, work, or go anywhere by herself.
She visited our medical partner, Children's Surgical Center (CSC), for treatment. Doctors at CSC will perform surgery to remove the cataracts and replace her lenses with artificial ones, which will allow Chanthoeurn to see clearly again. The surgery is scheduled for July 17, and CSC is requesting $398 to fund the treatment.
