Benon, a 65-year-old farmer from remote Uganda, is married with three sons, four daughters, and 15 grandchildren. He enjoys singing in his local church, and always makes sure he is living at peace with his neighbors.
Recently, animals have destroyed Benon's crops and left him struggling to earn a living. He has resorted to growing coffee since the animals do not eat the coffee.
One year and four months ago, Benon got into a road traffic accident and broke his patella. He was taking his produce to the market. Benon never remained the same after this accident. He wishes he could walk longer distances but at the moment he can’t. He cannot visit relatives or travel far due to the instability in his leg, and also the pain.
For $534, Benon will have a pin insertion operation to treat his fracture, as well as casting. After treatment, he will be able to walk again with ease.
"I thank everyone that is supporting my hospital fees," Benon said. "They have not only helped me but Uganda as a whole. May God bless you abundantly.”
