Soeb is a 60-year-old mother of eight from Cambodia. She has three sons, five daughters, and thirty grandchildren, and she enjoys listening to the monks pray on the radio in her free time.
Three months ago, Soeb developed a cataract in her right eye, causing her blurry and cloudy vision. She has difficulty seeing things clearly, recognizing faces, and going anywhere outside.
When Soeb learned about our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre, she traveled for two and a half hours seeking treatment. On July 1, doctors will perform a phacoemulsification cataract surgery and an intraocular lens implant in her right eye. After recovery, she will be able to see clearly. Now, she needs help to fund this $211 procedure.
She says, "I hope that I can see clearly again after my surgery so I can help my daughter to cook and do the housework, as well as go anywhere I want to on my own."
