Ion is a government worker from Cambodia. He has two sons, one daughter, and one grandchild. He likes watching the news on TV.
A year ago, Ion developed a cataract in his left eye, causing him photophobia and blurred vision. He has difficulty seeing things clearly, recognizing faces, and going anywhere outside.
When Ion learned about our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre, he traveled for three hours seeking treatment. On July 4, doctors will perform a small incision cataract surgery and an intraocular lens implant in his left eye. After recovery, he will be able to see clearly. Now, he needs help to fund this $211 procedure.
He says, "I hope I can return to work and spend time with my family."
