Meet Dorzeide! Dorzeide is 59-years-old and lives in Haiti with her husband and her six children. Dorzeide and her family run a small farm in the countryside, but she has not been able to work in the field since her diagnosis of breast cancer. Due to her cancer, she often experiences severe pains in her abdomen and joints, as well as pain near the site of her tumor. Dorzeide and her family do not make enough money from their farm to pay for her treatment. By raising just $1500, doctors will be able to perform surgery to remove her mass and Dorzeide will receive the chemotherapy that she needs. Watsi’s medical partners are confident that this treatment will help stop the spread of Dorzeide’s cancer and will have an extremely positive impact on her quality of life.
