Teat is a 32-year-old motorcycle taxi driver from Cambodia. He is married and has two sons. In his free time, he likes to play soccer and walk along the riverside.
About five years ago, Teat developed a ptergyium in each eye, which means that an abnormal growth developed along the tissue beneath his eyelids. As a result of the ptergyiums, Teat has been experiencing blurred vision, burning, irritation, and tearing. It is difficult for him to do any type of work, including driving his motorcycle.
Thankfully, after finding out about our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre (CSC), Teat is now scheduled to undergo treatment on January 16. Eye surgeons at CSC will remove the pterygium in each eye, and Teat's vision will improve. To pay for the costs of the procedure, CSC is requesting $148.
Eager to return to a normal life, Teat says, "I hope my eye surgery is successful, so that I look better, easily do any work, drive my motorcycle places, and feel comfortable."
