Supriya joined Watsi on April 13th, 2019. 15 other people also joined Watsi on that day! Supriya's most recent donation supported Kob, a man from Cambodia, to fund cataract surgery.
Supriya has funded healthcare for 2 patients in 2 countries.
Kob is a 77-year-old rice farmer from Cambodia. He has four sons and four grandchildren, and enjoys reading books and listening to the monks pray on the radio in his free time. Two months ago, Kob developed a cataract in his left eye, causing him cloudy vision and photophobia. He has difficulty seeing things clearly, recognizing faces, and going anywhere outside. When Kob learned about our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre, he traveled for two and a half hours seeking treatment. On July 8, doctors will perform a small incision cataract surgery and an intraocular lens implant in his left eye. After recovery, he will be able to see clearly. Now, he needs help to fund this $211 procedure. He says, "I hope that after my surgery, I will be able to return to the pagoda and join the ceremonies, and be able to read scripture clearly."
Lenkai is a baby from Kenya. He has clubfoot of his left foot. Clubfoot is a condition in which the foot is twisted out of shape. This causes difficulty walking and even wearing shoes. Fortunately, Lenkai traveled to visit our medical partner's care center, AIC Cure International Hospital. There, surgeons will perform clubfoot repair surgery on March 10. Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation, is requesting $1,224 to fund Lenkai's clubfoot repair. After treatment, he will be able to walk easily.
